about united water polo club

United Water Polo Club (UWPC) was founded in 2007 as a non-profit 501(3)(c) with one overriding philosophy in mind “player development.” UWPC offers Water Polo developmental programs for girls and boys starting as early as age 5. UWPC has been recognized by colleges, high schools and USA Water Polo for its “developmental excellence.” Our coaching staff, board of directors and affiliates incorporate some of the most notable names in this internationally recognized sport.

UWPC's MiniPolo and Beginning Water Polo Programs are where many of our girls and boys from our competitive age group teams get their start. MiniPolo serves children from ages 5 to 10 and Beginning Water Polo from 8 to14. Both programs are a terrific way to get started and prepare those interested to join one of our girl’s or boy’s teams.

UWPC’s competitive age group water polo teams start with the 10 & under coeds. At age 11 teams are separated into girls and boys, all the way up to age 18 at two year intervals. Our philosophy with your child(ren) is to provide knowledge about the sport of water polo and provide a positive training experience with dedicated and qualified coaches. Your child(ren) will learn sportsmanship, the importance of team work and be ready for the next level which may be high school or college. Not only will the coaches work with your child but older players from teams within UWPC will act as role models and support the younger players in improving their water polo skills as well as demonstrating the proper attitude for an athlete.

“Rather than waiting for the natural athletes to rise, we are going to create and develop ALL players at All skill levels.”

Even with UWPC’s focus on development and not on always winning, our club has won countless gold, silver and bronze medals on the national level and local levels. UWPC is also the first U.S. Water Polo Club to participate in the internationally recognized “HABAWABA Tournament” held annually in Italy – where teams from all over the world compete.

We hope you will try our wonderful sport through one of UWPC’s programs in your area.

Sincerely,
